Who will be taken in the Rapture?

Matthew 7:21-23
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Real Christians will be taken, lukewarm Christians will be left behind.

Revelation 3:16
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Are you a real Christian TODAY?

Many 'Christians' want to get to heaven, yet they want to live a mortal life forever. Someone told me those words recently, and it struck me hard because I had just had a similar conversation with a friend in reference to the rapture and she had responded with "I do not want Jesus to come yet, I have many things I need to do first."

I told her, Jesus is only coming for the people that are ready and waiting for his return. So you need to decide what's more important to you "All these thing" or Jesus because you can't have both.

If you say I were saved a few years ago, and got baptized, joined the Church, But now it's not all that interesting to me, my faith is not what it used to be.

Then you are in danger of being left behind in the rapture.

If your pastor told you after you got saved you don't every have to worry about it anymore, you will go to heaven, then he lied to you.

You must keep a renewed relationship with Jesus. You must fight a good fight, and finish the course, and kept the faith if you want to be taken in the rapture or go to heaven when you die.

2 Timothy 4:4-8 - Paul's Valedictory

4 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Now let's talk about the rapture

This prophecy, or any prophecy, should not be a point of contention between believing Christians. However, it is an interesting prophecy. The belief expressed here is that the Lord will remove all those who sincerely believe in and trust in Him from the Earth before the coming Apocalypse.

Many of us also feel the generation which is alive today is the generation of the Rapture, and a worldwide body of faithful believers will be removed suddenly before the person or the identity of the coming Antichrist (a 'counterfeit' messiah) will be, or even can be, revealed. And since many feel this man (the coming Antichrist) is alive today, it is worth the time to look at some of the verses found in the Bible which directly, or indirectly refer to this strange, forceful, prophetic event which we simply call 'the Rapture' . . .

"Behold, I tell you a mystery:

We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye"

(1 Cor 15:51-52)

"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. (After 40 days) Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord." (1 Thes 4:16-18)

"For in the time of trouble ('Jacob's Trouble' ... the coming Apocalypse) He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle he shall hide me; he shall set me high upon a rock."

(Ps 27:5)

"Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment, until the indignation [the great Tribulation] is past. For behold, the LORD comes out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the Earth for their iniquity [the coming Apocalypse]; the Earth will also disclose her blood, and will no more cover her slain."

(Isa 26:20 - 21)

"Seek the LORD, all you meek of the Earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden in the day of the LORD'S anger."

(Zeph 2:3)

"Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the Earth." "Behold, I come quickly!"

(Rev 3:10-11)

Who will get "Raptured" and who will be left behind?

To simplify things, let's divide all of the people in the world into four groups:

1. Those who sincerely believe and trust in Jesus, the promised Messiah - All those (both Jew and Gentile) who sincerely believe Jesus willingly and lovingly died on the Cross for all of our sins, and was buried, and then rose again the third day, according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15). All those who have accepted Him as their Lord and 'Savior' (who saves us from our sins and from Hell) and now wait in faith.

2. Those who call themselves 'Christians,' but don't really believe these things and have no real faith in Jesus, God, or the Bible. Those who have never willingly opened the door of their heart to invite Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah, into their lives and accept Him as their Lord.

3. "The world." Those who do not believe, and who ridicule, scoff at, or despise those who do. Those who deny Jesus as Lord and willfully reject His loving offer of forgiveness ... and life in Heaven.

4. Israel. Those children of Israel who have not yet accepted Jesus as their promised Messiah have a clear prophetic destiny. Watch Israel. Israel is God's timepiece in Bible prophecy and all the prophecies of the coming 'Apocalypse' revolve around the tiny nation of Israel ... the only nation God calls His own.

It appears that only those believers in Group 1 will be "Raptured," and thus safely removed and hidden before the coming Apocalypse. Many churches, pulpits, synagogues, and pews will still be filled. Many people will be left behind. The Bible warns of a coming world leader who will be revealed sometime soon after the Rapture. This coming world leader has been given many names and titles in the Bible, both in the Old and the New Testaments ... one of his 'titles' is the 'Antichrist.' There are some who feel this coming world leader may even powerfully convince those who are left on Earth after the Rapture that this missing segment of global population was kidnapped or removed by a much different kind of alien "force."

The rapture is not some new age movement as some say it is, if you are a true Christian you can clearly see talk of the rapture started in the days of Jesus, the reason it is not spelled out in the Bible is because it's for the people that truly study the Bible and have a desire to know all about Jesus, the rapture is not for everyone, it's only for the best of the best, the people that love Jesus and seek him in faith, if you need proof of the rapture than don't worry about it because it's not for you.

The rapture is for people that believe in it and are ready to go, if you are so concerned about your life here on earth and all the earthly things in your life then you may miss the rapture and be left behind.

Nothing here on earth is important, not your home, your job, your car or your money, all that's important is Jesus and your personal relationship with him.

So if you say you are a Christian this is the time to get your house in order because Jesus is only going to take true Christians in the rapture, lukewarm Christians will be left behind, you have to be ready everyday of the week not just on sunday, you have to be ready and waiting to go, you have to come out from among them and be as Christ. Going to a local Church and paying the preacher won't buy you a ticket to the rapture, only the blood of Jesus can buy you a ticket, so it's time to really get to know Jesus on a personal level.

Jesus is contrasting those who experience death and live again ("for the dead in Christ rise first," I Thessalonians 4:16) with those who never experience death (because "we which are alive and remain" are caught up without dying, I Thessalonians 4:17).

It's a fact that God always spares His own from judgment.

When the horrendous worldwide flood came in Noah's day, Noah told those who were prepared to COME INTO the ark, Genesis 7:7.

When the judgment fell on Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 19:14, the angels told Lot and his family to COME OUT of the city.

Notice this trilogy: In Noah's day, it was COME IN. In Lot's day it was COME OUT. In our day, it will be COME UP, Revelation 4:1.

But, of course, as always, only a select group will be saved - rescued from the worst period in human history. During the Tribulation period that follows the Rapture, all hell is going to break loose on planet earth. It will be a furious time because the hindering power of the Holy Spirit will be temporarily removed.

"And to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come."

(1 Thessalonians 1:10)

"For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing."

(1 Thessalonians 5:9-11)

It might help to understand why God feels it will be important to remove this remnant (or 'body') of believers from the Earth in such a decisive and startling way. Prophet after prophet in the Bible warns us of a very specific period of time referred to by many names, including the "The Day of the Lord's Wrath," "The Time of Israel's (Jacob's) Trouble," "the Great Tribulation," and the "Apocalypse" (which actually refers to the 'Revelation'), when God is going to "pour out" His wrath on a "morally corrupt" and "violent" generation who has turned its back against Him and His Word in arrogance and unbelief. We are also told all those who sincerely believe in Jesus, the promised Messiah, and humbly wait for Him in faith, are not "appointed" to this coming 'Apocalypse' which will soon engulf the whole world . . .

With all the Bible tells us about how we should live on earth, there are almost no information about where we will be taken in the Rapture or what we will be doing for those years before we return with Christ. Why is that? I believe Jesus is going to rapture the best of the best, the people that have a strong faith in him, people that believe in him and completely trust him after 2000 years without proof, just on faith alone, and we must be waiting and praying for his return or we will not be taken in the rapture.

I should point out that when I say "the best of the best" I am not talking about being perfect, I am not talking about works, I am not talking about giving up everything you have and becoming a missionary. I mean people that truly have faith in Jesus and truly love him.

You too can be one of the "best of the best" just love Jesus, believe in him, trust him, and want him to return and take you home to be with him, give him your heart, and you will be taken in the rapture, it's that simple.

Jesus loves you, he died on that cross for you, all he asks of you is your love and trust in him.
